David is a corporate and commercial lawyer, who also holds an accounting degree. He has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Newcastle, and a Diploma of Law from the University of Sydney. David has dedicated his practice exclusively to corporate and commercial law for over 20 years, with a specific focus on advising on mergers, restructures, incorporations, partnerships, trusts, joint ventures, commercial contracting and funds management.
The law and accounting qualifications that David possesses enable him to provide extremely commercial and practical advice, which also considers the financial and tax implications. David’s clients are generally New South Wales based medium-sized enterprises in the property, development, construction, health care and professional services sectors. They value his strong service ethic, and his ability to cut through to the issues that are most significant to getting their projects over the line. David also does a significant amount of private client work for high net worth individuals, many of whom are Directors or “C”-level employees of these enterprises.
David is a family man, but also a keen sportsman with a long-lasting passion for basketball. He has represented as a player, coach and manager for New South Wales, Newcastle, Manly-Warringah and Port Macquarie. David has also furthered his dedication towards basketball by serving on various boards, including Newcastle Basketball, Basketball NSW, and Basketball Australia. David is the Deputy Chairman of Basketball Australia and is the Chair of Basketball Australia’s Finance, Audit, and Risk Committee. In 2016, he was elected as the representative for Australia on the Board of FIBA in Oceania, and is now the Vice President of FIBA Oceania. In 2019, David became one of nine elected members to the World Central Board of FIBA (International Basketball Federation) as well as sitting on the Legal Commission of FIBA.
