Joanne is a Partner and was appointed UK Head of the DWF Employment Team in 2020.
She undertakes both contentious and non-contentious work for private and public sector clients, including multi-site organisations across the UK, as well as a number of household name businesses. She advises on all aspects of employment law including TUPE, discrimination and organizational change. She works closely with both HR professionals and senior management, building long-term relationships with her clients to provide strategic and focused advice on HR projects and people issues.
Jo regularly designs and presents seminars, workshops and webinars for clients on a wide range of employment related subjects including culture change, unconscious bias and diversity. She also writes blogs, articles and opinions on employment law issues for a variety of publications.
She is recognised by her clients for her practical and commercial approach and her prompt, clear and straightforward advice.
She is a governor of a primary school and was previously Vice-Chair of Governors at a secondary school. She has also developed and run a number of mentoring programmes for schools in the Manchester area to encourage pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds to consider university and a career in Law.
